The New York Times headline this morning: "Doctors without ethics, just wheeling and dealing" and again: "(...) those who wear the shirts abolish the words market and manager."
I printed this article and I'll take it, not so much for the article itself (it's an interview with Professor Bonadonna, oncologist), but rather for the argument that touches and too often My opinion is undervalued or even forgotten.
Almost a year ago I have experienced personnel on this issue that I have marked and often led me to question me. For this reason I decided to write to you: my teammates, friends and acquaintances. I chose you not only for the emotional ties I have with some, but mainly because I believe that your association should also strive for this.
Let me explain. News stories that assail us every day and weigh should give us pause. Not to bring forth in us a mere condemnation of the incident, but rather to grow in us (in you future doctors) need to be different now and in the future.
I still remember the first time we talked about creating the SISM of Parma. I remember the great values, project ideas and feelings on issues like this.
Being good students of medicine and good doctors then then, I do not think simply be the first class of undergraduate degree, or hospital association.
be good doctors say I should rather think about the good of others as if it were their own good or that of a loved one.
ethics, as well as the values \u200b\u200bs'interiorizzano (Perhaps) over time through experience and through the social fabric in which we live. 'S why I believe that everyone should always think of the other party and not (only) to its own economic benefit, social and / or political.
I am writing today because I think it is possible to apply this rule in everyday life: to be in our students, employees, shareholders and above all friends.
If you want to take it as a council, or as a simple point of view.
I hope it was not heavy and if I was ... well, it means that I will refer to the party with my nonsense kebaaaaaaaaab!
Margaret
PS: Finally, on this topic I recommend a book:
Across Sandro Bartoccioni, Gianni Bonadonna, Francesco Sartori (Edizioni BUR). [The first part is really worth!]
