First Audition Gropping

A new book

I thought the blog could also be a tool for comparison on important issues, do not get me wrong, I am very happy with the turn that has taken this initiative and participation of all of you, but I would like to introduce to the side on the page (just above the well-known as video of Medicine for all), a picture. A photo is updated every week and is a starting point for a debate between us on issues relating to medicine or that goes well with it, to see a bit 'as these future doctors are moving out of heavy books handling too many hours a day. Books that, if they are part of everyday life, in danger of becoming "dead paper," good only for sophistry and speculation of some old and bloated professorone.
My idea was this: once a week I will propose the photo (possibly with an attached survey), from a brief post introducing the topic, during the week who has something to say or ask about you commenting on the post even just to say how he thinks about it, or to provide new points of view, personal experiences, readings. A weekend we'll know all a little more.

The argument that I wanted to propose this week is the 180/78 , better known as "law Basaglia" , named after its founder, psychiatrist Mark Levy MD. The law of 1978, is an important framework law that imposed the closure of asylums and settlement in the Compulsory Health Treatment (TSO), setting up the public mental health services . Beyond the obvious merits that the law has had in improving the care of psychiatric patients, it has received over the years a number of criticisms and proposals for revision, especially by associations of relatives of psychiatric patients, which was poured a shot of the burden of their physical and psychological care.
In introducing this subject I will not take place, but advise everyone to learn a little on the subject before discussing it, due to its extreme delicacy and intimacy. This is not to completely halt the debate, but ...
